Amusing Searches
The ToEE wiki seems to consistantly receive traffic from search engines on a wide range of different things. Here are some of the more amusing searches that have struck our page.
10 foot fenwick poles are apparently fishing rods. However, the ToEEwiki is second on a google search for these excellent items.
The Hommlet money changer is apparently the place to go in Australia when you need your copper changed into gold at a competitive rate. It appears second on a google australia search, down from first position a couple of months ago. Update, 21st Nov: The MoneyChanger is now once again top position.
When you're looking for OggBoots, there ain't a better place to go than to our local Half-Orc. He may not want to give you his boots, but someone's been searching for them around here. No less than four times in a single month!
Furnok is popular (and yes, we're top of google there), and we're fifth on a google search for Dead or Alive character profiles. (Dead or Alive is a computer game, which has recently spawned a beach volleyball spinoff.)
Intentionally, we're top of google searches for Dungeon Carts. Despite that, nobody has offered to publish my artistic works in a book of poetry.
Surprisingly, we're also the first site returned when doing a google search for Lucern hammers. Luckily for the people actually hitting our page, we actually provide pointers to sites that do contain useful information. This is even more amusing given that until this entry was added on the 21st November, nothing in the wiki actually linked to the Lucern hammers.
James adds... : It won't surprise anyone to learn that a Google search for Gara Duhl shows our late lamented Holy Warrior on top of the list. What struck me as odd was the page of non-tToEE links that follow! "Gara" and "duhl" occur on the same page far more often than I could have guessed...
Given our popularity, maybe I should consider selling advertising space?
